New SFSU grant awarded to study molecular markers of nociception

The lab was awarded a new, internal grant that will fund our ongoing work mapping sensory neurons in cephalopods. This project will use HCR-based labeling of putative nociceptor transcripts in squid. We will be mapping the arms, brain and stellate ganglion to identify the spatial organization of nociceptive circuits, and then use markers that reveal upregulation of IEGs to reveal which of these identified circuits is activated after tissue injury.

We are grateful to the SFSU Office of Research and Sponsored Programs for their support of our research!
